The morning that they hatched the sun was shining brightly. The air, cool from the night’s rain shower, was loud with Weyr life. The leftover rain puddles from the night were slowly disappearing as the light of the sun evaporated them. It was warm in the Weyr, but warmer where they hatched, in the Hatching Cavern. Xiri noticed the Hatching first, and watched as one egg wobbled into another, making a diagonal crack along its shell. Then the small Sunshine squawked in alarm, and jumped into the air, only to between a second later. The Sunshine ended up next to Zenniel in her bed. The girl was curled in her furs, fast asleep. The girl didn’t have a care in the world at that moment. Until, of course, Xiri, and then Cree, both nipped at her violently. Neither left marks, but they were just enough that the girl woke with a start. Zenniel nudged back the furs, and blinked sleepy eyes, but when Xiri saw the girl awake, she flitted back to her eggs. Zenmine, the little Sunshine says her eggs hatch. Lilith said from her perch, her eyes swirling gently. She is very excited. And Zenniel shrugged off her night garments and into some pants and a tunic. “Oh, I bet she is very excited, Lilith. This is her first clutch! Alert everyone that a fire-lizard clutch is hatching in the Hatching Cavern.” And after she had shrugged on her boots, she mounted her Sunshine and told Lilith to glide down to the Hatching Cavern. After the two had landed, and the human had vaulted off her dragon’s back, Lilith crooned gently, and said, Come, riders and nonriders, the time for a small-dragon hatching is now! Lilith never called the fire-lizards ‘fire-lizards.’ Instead, they were always just ‘small-dragons.’ Hatched: 22/25 Sunshine Female Waterfall Male Waterfall Mineral Mineral Male Forest Female Forest Male Forest Earth Earth Sand Sand Sand Storm Cloud Storm Cloud Sea Sea Grass Grass Snow Snow Snow Impressed: 22/25 Sunshine Kia to Fennore Female Waterfall Zora to Kinah Male Waterfall to C'it Mineral Yaz to Dr'ym Mineral Sun to Saich Male Forest Rush to Reishy Female Forest Mirr to Kella Forest to A'vic Earth Rock to Tinidor Earth Torna to A'vic Sand Nip to R'keh Sand Nari to K'nor Sand to Faral Storm Cloud to Dr'ym Storm Cloud Hia to Z'or Sea Whim to Ala Sea Sarit to K'nor Grass Yin to Malin Grass Yang to Malin Snow Trick to T'hex Snow Kivuli to Kinah Snow to Z'or Betweened/Duds: 3/25 Egg Egg Egg

[glow=darkgoldenrod,2,300]Dr'ym[/glow]
Dr'ym heard the call from Lilith about the fire-lizard hatching.
Heh...small-dragons, Ok Peth...Let's get to that Hatching!!!
Peth rumbled and bent for his rider to vault to his back.
They were airbourne and down into the Cavern quickly, stopping just inside. Dr'ym dismounted and came inside. He smiled at the Weyrwoman and looked at the eggs.
" Ah, good...I see that I haven't missed any of the buggers hatching!" He laughed lightly and giggled to Zenniel.
[glow=red,2,300]Sameric & Torimin[/glow]
Sameric and Torimin didn't want more fire-lizards right now, but they heard the announcement and decided to be of a little help. They went to the kitchens and got two buckets apiece of raw meat chunks the size that new-born fire-lizards would need and carried them quickly to the Hatching Cavern.
" Here you guys go! Some raw meat for the new hatchlings! Be good to them, sorry we can't stay...but we have fire-lizards and chores!" Sameric waved to the Weyrwoman.

Word spreads quickly in a Weyr, especially when there's a queen dragon at back of it. Fennore carefully set down the plate of food she was carrying, then had second thoughts...it was a large plate of meat and there were about to be very hungry firelizard hatchlings.
Instead of abandoning it, thus, the ever-cheerful candidate carried it with her, making her quick way across the bowl to the caverns. She wondered if they just let the firelizards use them when the dragons weren't, or if the weyrwoman had set this up with the queen's owner as a good 'rehearsal' for the dragon hatching. Then she realized the queen's owner *was* the weyrwoman and became even more 'suspicious'. "Ma'am," she said, "I brought meat for the hatchlings...for anyone who doesn't have food to sacrifice. Where should I put it?"
--
Tinidor all but ran to the hatching cavern. He was *going* to get one this time...he was tired of being delayed and seeing only shards. As he entered and saw intact eggs, he heaved a big sigh of relief. "Yay. I *made* it." He got his breath back quickly, glancing around. He'd been in the cavern before, with rather larger eggs. It was not that unfamiliar a place for him. He moved over to the eggs and bowed a little to Zenniel, then Lilith, then, with an amused twinkle in his eye, Xiri.
She was, after all, a queen, and he was about to try and take one of her children for his own. Even if she was only a firelizard, a bit of respect seemed appropriate to the occasion.

Ala burst into A'vic's weyr with her usual overdramatic flourish. "The flitts are hatching!" She shouted, rushing to where her brother sat. "You have to get one, come on!" Grabbing his arm, she struggled to drag him out of the bed. Making it all the way to the Hatching Cavern like this would be hard.
"I heard, I heard," A'vic muttered. "Sretoth, give us a lift?"
Of course Mine. The Mineral bent his forelegs so both could mount and carried them on the short ride to the Caverns. Once they had dismounted, Ala grasped her brother's wrist again and and rushed him inside.
"Good thing we didn't miss any hatching," she sighed. She smiled at the Weyrwoman and ushered her brother closer to where the fire lizard eggs rested.

"Hear that Amirinth?" R'keh hoped his dragon didn't. The last thing he needed was an insane flitt to add to the trouble Amirinth put on him.
Of course R'kehmine. Amirinthlove will give you a ride to the sands. She bumped his shoulder affectionately. When R'keh made no move to mount she pushed harder, slipping her head between his legs and throwing him forcefully onto her back. Won't it be fun to have some little cousins to play with? Amirinth asked as she took off from their weyr.
R'keh didn't reply, more concentrated on holding on to his dragon despite his unsettled position. Luckily it wasn't a long ride to the Hatching Cavern and soon he was able to slide/fall off her back and stumble in.

Kinah had prepared herself for a day reading records and watching dragons when she was intercepted by a young rider. His hair was standing straight on end and he seemed a bit frazzled and distracted. When he spotted her, a strange gleam came into his eye so she clutched her records a bit tighter and gave him a threatening gaze. If he so much as touched her, she was ready to retaliate. Before she could move out of his way, he blocked her path and ran a cool hand through his curly hair.
“You’re a candidate, right?” he asked quickly, his tongue tripping over itself to get the words out. When Kinah nodded, her two-toned eyes narrow and fierce; her reaction only solicited a laugh from the good-natured rider, who tipped his head towards her and winked. “You might not want to hate me so, I’ve news for you.”
Intrigued, Kinah’s face softened and she motioned with her free hand for him to continue. “What news?” she asked, her eyes loosing their edge and instead burning with a bright curiosity. She never turned down a bit of news. He grabbed her arm and dragged her to the nearest ledge, where Mosarth was waiting. She wrenched her arm free and shook her head, “I’m not going anywhere with you until you tell me where we’re going.” T’hex was already climbing aboard Mosarth and was irritated with the candidate’s sharp tongue. She was not like other candidates he’d met, and he made a mental note to never try to trick her.
“Fine. There’s a flit clutch – the Weyrwoman’s Sunshine just laid some eggs! You’d better get on or you’ll never get there in time,” T’hex said coolly, and shrugged. He wasn’t bothered with her, he was simply trying to be a nice guy. Kinah bit her bottom lip and took a leap of faith. She climbed up onto Mosarth’s neck ridge like she was born to do it and laced her arms around T’hex’s waist.
When they arrived at the Hatching Caverns, the Weyrwoman and her queens were already gathered there, as were many Weyrfolk. As they slid from Mosarth’s back she mouthed ‘thanks’ to T’hex, who reminded her to greet the queens and Weyrwoman with a bow. They worked their way to the knot of people hoping to Impress and anxiously awaited their chances.

The dear little eggies didn't wait for anyone. Ever. They never seemed to do so in any other instance, and they didn't here. The egg that had split halfway open the first time it rolled, broke apart in so many different shreds of egg, it was splendid to see. That egg showed a pale, snow-colored... Snow. The snow, having not had to break his egg open all the way, was happy and chipper. But... he didn't feel hungry yet, and just so eyed the food menacingly.
Zenniel thanked all who had brought food, and placed it near the eggs, but far enough away that the humans could 'choose' which egg they wanted. Well, not really choose... but, you get the gist of it. Anyway, the egg that the Snow's egg had rolled into gave a violent shake and split lengthways. What appeared from that was a ... wait!? Where was it!? That's right, it was a sand. The sand was hungry, though. It wanted food. Yes, food, hungry.
Meanwhile, in all that chaos, Malin and Kella appeared. Yeah, who cared about them (except maybe for Dr'ym). Those two stood... well, Malin near Dr'ym, and Kella near some random person she didn't know with another candidate (T'hex and Kinah). She wanted to get a fire-lizard, but she already had Blazer.
The golden queen egg rocked back and forth once, but stood still, which prompted the egg closest to the queen egg to rock... and consequently burst much like the first one did. This egg carried a dark form... a forest. The way you can tell if forests are male or female are thus: you can't until you see what exactly it is. Good luck for whoever is getting that one. (<3)
Then another egg burst, and a Mineral broke forth, he creeled and literally flew for the food, but... found himself on someone else instead... Dr'ym. Dr'ym had Impressed a Mineral.

Dr'ym was surprised at the speed at which the little fire-lizards were bursting free. He guessed that they were tired of being there in those eggs! He smiled at Malin, and kind of pushed her over to the Snow and Sand fire-lizards.
" Go on love, get one! You could take great care of one of those little small-dragons as Lilith calls...." He didn't get to finish his sentence because one of the newest hatchlings smacked right into him.
He supported the little fellow, looking down saw the Mineral color...and felt the extreme hunger erupting from its mind. He smiled and grabbed up some food.
" Here little one." He fed the fire-lizard until the hatchling was pretty well unconsious from joy and affection for its new pet and the food in its belly.
He grinned at Zenniel, Xiri, and Malin. " I'll call him Yaz."

Fennore flickered the weyrwoman a grin, set the plate down and then raided it herself, grabbing some strips of meat and breaking them up a little. Firelizard hatchlings were... "Oh! They're adorable!" she exclaimed. There was no way she could pick just one, and she leaned forward, extending the meat towards the clutch and whichever hatchling happened to be nearest. She would let the firelizards...and/or random chance...do the choosing, but she wanted one badly. Maybe the little snow one? He was gorgeous. But so was the sand or the forest. Part of her wondered what it would be like to be out here with dragon eggs rocking and half the Weyr watching. Everything was so exciting and fun...that she had genuinely forgotten her troubles.
--
Tinidor also raided Fennore's food plate, with a smile for the other candidate. That one was bubbles incarnate, he thought. He bet she'd Impress a snow, it would be a good combination. And then, he paid attention to the Impression going on right now. The mineral was with Dr'ym, the others. Hrm. A forest. He would prefer an earth, but he wouldn't turn down a forest, or any firelizard, really. He leaned a bit towards that one, but kept one eye on the snow and the sand. Just in case. He'd heard of somebody getting bitten by accident because a firelizard they hadn't noticed had leapt for their food and that would be embarrassing. Injured by a dragon hatchling, one thing. By a firelizard? That would be lame.

Kinah and T'hex watched anxiously as the eggs began to hatch. There was a mineral, a sand and a snow. The last of those three garnered a wriggle of T'hex's nose - it already looked like a daredevil. He hoped whoever Impressed it would treat it well and show it the proper ways of a snow. Or at least oblige the flit whenever it wanted to play a prank on someone. Mosarth rumbled from the bowl's rim, where he was watching the hatching through T'hex's eyes. {He'd complete our trifecta!}[/i] the snow-dragon said with a laugh, but T'hex simply shook his head with an amused grin on his face. A snow flit would indeed be fun!
Kinah, on the other hand, watched the mineral and the sand. She was trembling from head to toe - not from fear, but rather excitement. Her oddly colored eyes watched the mineral impress Dr'ym and she smiled at him. She had noticed Kellah who was standing nearby and offered the girl a thin smile and a nod. Perhaps they'd meet later, when there wasn't a clutch full of creeling, hungry, Impressionable flits in front of them.
T'hex and Kinah both watched and waited, and though they had no food of their own, there was plenty to go around and much more in the kitchens. T'hex began to wring his hands together, leaving Kinah to be the quiet, solid one. Together, but apart, they waited for the clutch to continue hatching and for more flits to appear.

K'nor had found out that there was a flitter clutch hatching he decided he may as well go and see if he could get a fire lizard. It would allow the kids to get a little closer to him than they already were, he was a Weyrling Master not a friend at least not until they graduated.
{Mine choose carefully what you try for.} Kintrath told the rider as he approached the eggs and the already hatched fire lizards.

Ala gripped her brother's arm tightly as the first few flitts hatched. "Oh, which one do you think?" She would have loved the Snow, surely it would help improve Vir's mood a little to have a happy little white flitt to keep it company! The cook had a little food in a pocket of her dress, enough to sate a fire lizard hatchling at least. Could she just grab the little Snow?
A'vic shrugged. "I'll wait for more to hatch...." He wasn't completely sure he wanted a fire lizard- it was Ala and Sretoth who thought he needed one. From what the rider had seen though, they were troublesome little creatures. He already had Sretoth, did he really need a 'small-dragon'?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
R'keh smiled as the little flitts cracked- some seemed to almost explode- out of their eggs. They were surprisingly cute. He had no idea what kind of flitt he would like though, any but a Grass he supposed. Amirinth was more than enough.
I would like a little Grass friend, Amirinth put in, her voice seeming almost pouty.
We'll see, dear heart. R'keh replied.
Oh, now the Snow was getting fed up with everything. He looked to Xiri and chirped loudly, an annoying chirp that sounded much like a Terran car alarm. The Sand, as furtive as she was already, shrieked, and flung herself at a random bystander. That random bystander in question was R’keh. The poor guy would have scratches after that one.
While everyone’s eyes were either on the really loud Snow or the Sand Impressing to R’keh, two more eggs hatched. Out of one came a small female Waterfall. Waterfalls were easy to distinguish from male to female, seeing as the females were always bigger than males. This one was unmistakably a female. She crooned to the Snow, then snapped at him, trying to make him shut up. He, thankfully, did… aaaand headed straight for T’hex. BAM! Impression was made, and he was creeling for food from T’hex.
In her mind, Zenniel was saying, ‘oh crap, better keep an eye on those three from now on…’ but back at the Hatching sounds, the other color that had hatched (a Sea) was still milling around his mother shyly. Another egg hatched, which produced a nice little Earth ‘small-dragon’, who promptly sped toward Tinidor. Woah, a lot of colors hatched already, it was so hard to keep count!
The forest was still… there. He, for now it was unmistakably a he, opened his mouth and squawked for food. He sped for Reishy (who isn’t here, but we’ll believe he’s here).
Tinidor couldn't help but laugh a bit at the snow. Then, the sand chose R'keh, and the waterfall T'hex, and then a blue, which was too shy to Impress. Hopefully, he'd get the hang of it. Then...zoom...a little earth was hatched, out of the egg, and at his feet before the quiet young man could blink. Maybe it had somehow read his desires and realized that he loved earths and would look after it. Maybe he had just been in its way. "Hey there, little guy." He fed it quickly, moving back a little so the un-chosen would have more space. He was a handsome little thing...who knew exactly what he wanted. "I think I'm going to call you Rock," he told the little one.
--
Fennore watched without a sign of disappointment as the firelizards chose their owners. There was still a snow and a sea, either of which she would be quite happy with. At least, she thought that was what was left, in all the chaos! Oh yeah, the forest had chosen. She shifted her meat, thinking that maybe she had not been picked because it wasn't catching a hatchling's eye readily enough. "Come on...I'll treat one of you well," she promised the hatchlings. Not that they would understand.
K'nor then offered a small peice of meat roll to the Waterfall he hopes to impress to her. He didn't know she was female but hey he'd try to impress her anyway, he was very much hoping she was a good little firelizard and didn't cause any problems for him. With caution he watched the other people so that he could see how they are impressing to their fire lizards.
T'hex watched as the snow wrecked havoc on the Weyrfolk's ears and chuckled at the antics of the tiny creature. To be so young and already know how to get on nerves - that was a true feat to be admired! Mosarth also rumbled his approval, and the pair kept their eyes on the tiny snow. Kinah, on the other hand, had her hands firmly clapped over her ears. She turned to T'hex with a grimace on her face and said, "Does your snow make those kinds of noises?" The jest was more like a sting and T'hex's usually friendly eyes narrowed at her. She simply shrugged and brushed past him, leaving him alone in the crowd. They had gotten off to a rocky start, and both doubted that they'd ever be friends. Their tongues were both too sharp and quick for their personalities to coexist.
From her position a ways off, Kinah watched as the snow was reprimanded by the pretty waterfall, apparently a female from what she could surmise. Kinah was not surprised at all when the snow flung himself in T'hex's direction and latched on like a parasite. She knew they'd fit well together, but she didn't much care.
T'hex, on the other hand, was filled with an overjoyed, tingly warmth when the snow Impressed him. Mosarth's roar could be heard within the hatching sands and the snow winked between into the Caverns. Spiraling downwards, he landed far away from the clutch as to not disturb the queens or Zenniel (especially since they were probably already on thin ice for something or another anyways.)
The snowrider was cradling the flit, who was creeling and starving and hungry and angry and happy all at the same time! The emotions and thoughts were such a jumble of confusion that T'hex did not even begin to decipher them. He cast a backwards glance at Kinah, who was determinedly not looking at him, and then clamored aboard his dragon. {I'll take you as close as I can to the kitchens, then you can get him some food. What will you name him? T'hex snorted, grabbing hold of his riding straps with one hand while clutching the snow flit, who was flailing wildly, with the other. "Trick. What else would I name him?" Mosarth chuckled again, and the trio quickly exited the Caverns in search of food.
Kinah was still waiting patiently - she didn't have food like many of the others did, but with the distraction of T'hex gone, she focused her entire attention on the clutch. Filling herself with warm, inviting thoughts, she waited and watched and hoped. If that dimglow T'hex could Impress, she knew she could!
K'lan and Jaldon
Jaldon and his father argued all the way to the kitchens, slowing their progress significantly. Jaldon scowled when he saw that several eggs had already hatched. "This is all your fault!"
K'lan snorted and waved his hand dismissively. "Hardly! You started the argument!" Jaldon just shook his head. He didn't even remember what the argument was about anymore, just that he disagreed with everything his father did. At least his father had agreed to take him to the hatching, instead of annoying him, like usual.
"Aren't they cute?" K'lan asked cheerfully, already moving past the fight. He grinned at the hatchling fire-lizards, clutching his bowl of meat tightly, ready at the slightest hint of one coming in his direction. Shell, his Sand fire-lizard, perched on his shoulder, humming a welcome for the new hatchlings.
Jaldon rolled his eyes. His father was acting like a child! Sighing, he moved away from the Searider, ending up next to Kinah. He smiled at her, vaguely recognizing her as another candidate.
"Aww, come on. Why not? It's just one little peck, you know? For practice?" "Oh, stop it already Z'or! I already said no. No means no." "Pwease...?" "Oh, Z'or! No fair, no making puppy faces! N- Hey! You stole it, give that back!" "My pleasure!"
The male smirked, giving the brunette Rider yet another peck in the lips before giving off a sly smirk, the StormCloud Rider giggling loudly as she tapped the back of his head. Ever since each had impressed turns ago they had become very close friends -- close enough that a few stolen pecks didn't seem like much of a deal between them.
Oh, for Faranth's sake! Mine, what are you doing?! {Relax, HiaLove. We're just playing!} Playing she says! What if he chews your face out?! Or worst, fertilizes you a clutch! {Hia! Come now, you're over-reacting! Calm down, love, we are just friends. You know it well.} Yeah, yeah... That's what they all say at the beginning. But anyway, this is not what I have contacted you for. Lilith informs me those... Things are hatching. You are not thinking of getting one, right? They are so small, and piteous. Surely they wouldn't last the night! {Might I remind you about how much more defenseless you were when you hatched?}
No reply came, though the female knew she'd won that argument. By Z'or's look, it seemed his Sea had also informed him of the same thing, and both headed to the Hatching Caverns. Having just left the kitchen, they took a generous medium bowl of meat scraps, just in case they impressed and for any that might have forgotten to bring meat along. As they arrived, a few eggs had visibly hatched, as well as impressed. Spotting a familiar auburn head, next to an orange haired lass, Saich lead Z'or over to the two Candidates and siblings.
"Faral! Reishy! How nice to see you both here! Mind if we join you?" "Oh, not at all Rider Saich." "Saich only, dear Faral. Saich. No need for formalities, dear." "I always tell him that, but he never listens." "Oh shush, Rei."
Two firelizards were also present in the group, green Mirage [bonded to Faral] trying to snatch meat pieces from the bowl Z'or currently had on his lap, while the more skittich Skitt was hidden among the orange strands of hair from his Keeper, Reishy.
Whatever discussions went on, however, were promptly forgotten, as a dark green form shoved himself into her arms and chest, creeling loudly in hunger. The female blinked, surprised, before hearing an angry hiss from her shoulders. It seemed Skitt was rather jealous of this new member of their little family.
"Oh, hush Skitt! Don't be mean to your new brother! Come here, Rush, look! Foood!"
Taking a meat scrap from the bowl of Z'or, the female dangled it in front of the little hatchling, who promptly snatched it up -- creeling for more. She continued to feed this greedy being, surprised by his personality. He was much more demanding than Skitt had ever been! On her shoulders Skitt sulked, though Reishy payed no heed to it for now. He'd get over it.
((Short and crappy. x.x Between, Reishy's a she. XD))
R'keh gave a sharp cry of surprise as the little Sand flung itself at him. She landed squarely on his chest, sharp claws piercing through the fabric and into his skin. His arms moved with natural reflex to catch her before the weight of the hatchling dragged her towards the ground and tore his shirt more.
A Sand, R'kehmine! What will you call her?
How about Nip? R'keh asked as the Sand bit down on his finger. He hurried to the plate of meat a Candidate had brought in and grabbed a piece to give to the fire lizard. She immediately began tearing at it, but not very carefully and managed to scratch and bite him a few more times while eating the piece. As soon as she had finished, R'keh grabbed another and the process repeated.
Nip sounds fitting, Amirinth observed.
"Then Nip it is." R'keh sighed softly and tried, admittedly awkwardly, to cradle the hatchling in one arm. With an unhappy growl at all the movement, the Sand wrapped her tail around his arm for more support and gave his wrist a hard bite before returning to her meal. From her spot on the edge of the Sands, Amirinth rumbled happily.
You’re guessing that a bunch of eggs won’t hatch at the same time now. But, really, a bunch of eggs did hatch now. In succession, too. The first to hatch was a really forlorn looking Storm Cloud flitter, who creeled in hunger and sorrow, and immediately Impressed herself to Z’or. She cried pitifully, and practically begged her owner to feed her. The next two to hatch crashed into each other with such a force that their eggs broke apart. Instantly, the two were at each other’s throats. One was an Earth, the other a Snow. The Earth, easily twice the size of the Snow, beat his brother to the ground. The Waterfall, incredibly annoyed by her brother’s doings, jumped on him ferociously. But to no avail, the poor Snow hatchling was mauled. The Waterfall landed a few good scratches on her brother’s hide, but nothing would help the Snow, which was pitifully mewling for dear life. The Snow’s wings were torn, and no amount of Healing would ever get him to fly again.
The Earth, extremely frustrated, jumped at a bystander. He found himself in A’vic’s arms. The Snow, still creeling, inched his way slowly over to Kinah, looking at her with swirling gray eyes. The Waterfall, intensely aware that everyone was looking at her, stalked over to the Snow’s mine, and Impressed also. Kinah had two fire-lizards, and the Waterfall had a means of looking over the Snow… perhaps for the rest of her (or his) life.
More eggs hatched, among them the Golden egg. The Sunshine landed on all four feet, and stood imperiously, looking at all who had come. The Sunshine took one look at the people near her, and actually flew to the person she wanted. She landed in a presumably very surprised Fennore’s arms. The other two that hatched became a Sand and a Sea. Both did not look like they were ready to Impress to anyone yet.
Fennore had been mostly watching the poor snow. She would have looked after it, crippled or no, and found some way for it to be happy. When Kinah ended up with it, she gave her new friend a reassuring smile. A snow and a waterfall...both very beautiful firelizards.
She turned back to the clutch, and then a flash of gold practically hit her in the arms. "Oof...hi!" Feed it, a little voice reminded her. No, feed *her*. It was a sunshine, a queen, and it had come straight for her. She found the meat she had brought, and the little lady tore into it. Hatching was hungry work, clearly. "Wow...you are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen!" Which was perhaps exaggerating, but even firelizard Impression tended to bias the recipient a little. She had to think of a name. "I'll call you...Kia." It was the first name that came into her head, really, but it sort of fit. Although...she wasn't sure, even at that moment, who was the pet and who the owner!
Tinidor winced as the snow was mauled, very glad that had not happened to his Rock. The earth was now asleep in the crook of his arm.
