Ala watched the fight between the hatchlings with a pained expression. That poor little Snow, how unlucky to have ended up hatching with that cruel Earth! She gave a sharp sigh of relief when the Waterfall came to the rescue of her little brother, but she still wasn't sure if the Snow would between from the pain of its injuries or try for life. When the Earth suddenly leapt into A'vic's arms, Ala glowered angrily at it. The little flitt deserved a scolding.
A'vic apparently hadn't been paying a lot of attention, he nearly dropped the Earth as he landed and barely recovered it after a quick scrabble. He took Ala's glare as being aimed towards him for bad handling of the hatchling- he had seen it fighting the Snow, seen the Waterfall attack the Earth, but didn't think that it deserved more trouble. He clutched the flitt protectively, his fingers carefully cupped over the Waterfall-inflicted cuts. "I got him, see Ala? It's okay."
Ala chewed her lip and looked like she was about to speak when Vir arrived in her usual timely manner. The Storm Cloud was enough to distract her from any sort of rant. A'vic gave a soft sigh of relief and headed for the tray of meat someone had brought in and took some for it. The Earth reached for the food eagerly, winced when the movement stretched the skin along his cuts and recoiled back into A'vic's chest.
He held the meat closer and the Earth began to eat more calmly. Now what to call it...? "I'll call you Torna," he murmured. A random name, but he supposed he liked it.
Ala, meanwhile, cupped Vir in her arms, the Storm Cloud seemed almost interested in watching the hatching. Being intrigued by something was odd for her. But at least something had her attention... that was a good thing.

It had truly been unexpected. So unexpected, Z'or had never seen her inch close until the pang of hunger hit his stomach -- hard. A mental chuckle came to his mind, accompanied by a sigh from Hialith. The Storm Cloud rarely spoke to other dragons' Mines, so he guessed he must have impressed something worth her attention.
Aww, Z'orMine. She is such a little cutie. Look, how she begs for your love! She reminds me of Hia! I do no such begging!!! Though she is such a sweety indeed... Sad she is a Storm Cloud, nothing good ever comes to us... {Oh, stop your nonsence Hialith. And don't try to make Z'or feel regretful of impressing such a little darling.} But it is true, SaichLove. None of those beasties have even glanced at you! {That's probably 'cause you're chasing them away like Thread with your negative radiations! Now be a sweet, and stop tormenting poor Z'or.} Very well then, but I do it only for you SaichLove. Mine, I think we should call her Hia! {I believe you are right, my blue friend! Hia it is then!}
The male grinned, though a startled squeal from his new charge made him look back at the dark hued Storm Cloud. He noticed the Brown taking some of the meat from the tray he held -- meant for every one -- before he recoiled back, surely from the injuries he sported. Z'or had been too busy to see it all, except a flash of brown mauling something white -- and then a flash of something bigger and slightly silverish blue maul the brown figure. Whatever had happened, he had an idea of what it was -- though the Rider would not scorn firelizard or Keeper. After all, each flitt was different, this Earth was just a bit more... Agressive.
"Not to worry, Hia darling! He is only eating. Come, let's feed you as well."
The flitt wearily watched her brother, before scampering up the man's shirt, claws leaving small punctures across his neck, and nestling under his clothing -- prefering the warmth and safety of his chest. He sighed, though a smile remained on the Rider's lips as he slowly sent scraps of meat down his collar neck, watching the flitt inside devour them before piteously asking for more. It might have seemed weird, but it would seem his little Hia was shy of the world...

Dr'ym was slightly appalled at the mauling that the poor little Snow got from his brother Earth. He also knew that things like this did happen....they were drove by hunger, not what was right.
He looked down at his Mineral Yaz, glad that he had not suffered a mauling. He petted the sleeping fire-lizard and watched as the others Impressed.

K'nor then saw the Waterfall was ignoring him he then sighed and turned his attention to the little Snow that had been mauled. He picked the little thing up and then began to treat its wings, he used all that he had been taught to heal the poor little thing. He hoped that it impressed to him but it was up to the flitter to decide if he wanted K'nor as his bonded.
"It's ok little one I won't harm you I want to help." He whispered to it as he tended to its injured wings. He would help no matter the cost.

The last of the eggs were beginning to stir. The largest of the remaining eggs broke open, and revealed a very bright Mineral fire-lizard. His hide was so bright, it rivaled the Sunshine’s hide, and his personality was… strange. He chattered to himself, a little too happy to be just born. He was a strange one. He, casting a glance at the three flitters left unImpressed, he Impressed. He literally waltzed right up to Saich, and butted his head into her lower leg. He was hungry, but this was fun. They should do it more often.
Emboldened by his older brother’s lack of fear, the first Sea to hatch found himself wanting to Impress. The Sea took a couple tentative steps away from Xiri, and trilled high in an almost fear-like voice. He was scared… who were all these people!? The Sea, though not particularly knowing who he would Impress to, found himself loving the aroma of the meat. He hurried toward the bowl, but was stopped by someone, and looked up. Impression was made, and Ala now had a Sea.
The other Sea and Sand were sticking to each other. The Sand looked around at her surroundings, her ever-changing hide changing with each small movement she made. The Sea just stayed by his sister, scared out of… almost… his hide. The Sand made clucking noises, as if to calm him. It didn’t work, and, scared, the male fled to a person. The Sand, exasperated, followed. K’nor didn’t know what hit him (or maybe he did, I won’t godmode) when a Sea, and then a Sand came at him full speed.
While the two were Impressing, three more eggs hatched. One had a hide sparkling in emerald, and when she opened her mouth, the Forest discovered she was a female. The Forest was very loud, obnoxiously so, but no one paid heed. The next to hatch came from a white egg with gently swirling pink swirls. This egg, though very rare indeed, held twin flitters. The twins were both Grasses. They chirred together, their green eyes swirling with hues of different colors. One was a light coloring with darker swirls, the other a dark coloring (though not dark enough to be considered forest) with lighter swirls. Both Impressed themselves to Malin, who promptly named them (for better or for worse) Yin and Yang. Good job, Malin. The third egg to hatch held a male waterfall, which was smaller than the female one that had hatched before it. Both of the newly-hatched’s didn’t want to Impress yet.

Forgetting her brother, Ala bent over to scoop the little Sea who had just stopped before her into her arms. Vir gazed at the hatchling curiously, the shades of her normally dull eyes flickering with interest.
Seeing as she had come to the hatching on a whim, Ala figured the name would fit this little Sea. As she extracted some meat from her pocket to give to him she whispered in the fire lizard's ears her plans for its name and it gave a soft chirp, which she figured meant it liked it. Good then. As Whim began to eat the strip of meat Ala held out to him, Vir poured off Hers shoulder and dropped into her arm too, chirping hopefully. Ala laughed and gave the Storm Cloud a treat too.
It was good to see Vir seeming to cheer up for a moment. She and the Sea nestled together in Ala's arms and hummed and murmured softly to each other as they ate. Yes, very good indeed. What a lovely Sunshine Xiri was to have laid the egg that became little Whim.

C'it sauntered into the Hatching Cavern lazily. He realized suddenly that there was a fire-lizard hatching going on!
Why didn't you tell me it was a Hatching Roluth!!!!?
To see your reaction. He was giving a rumble of pure enjoyment.
C'it came up to the mass of people and the hatchlings that had not Impressed yet. He wasn't really expecting to Impress one, but it would be nice.
He looked down at the few that had not Impressed and the few eggs that had not hatched. He actually got there in time to see the twin egg hatch and the two Grass fire-lizard twins Impress to Malin.
Dr'ym went over to Malin and kissed her cheek. " Good job love. Two! And they are twins!" He smiled and watched her feed them.

What is he doing?! {He's just butting my leg with his head, love.} I know that, I mean why is he impressing to you. To us! {Because he likes us. See, we're not cursed like you believe. This bright little Mineral wants us.} He will regret it once he sees how bad our luck is. You'll see. {Oh, HiaLove. We have no such thing as a curse or a bad luck streak! Now be a good girl, and be positive for one.} Very well, but you'll see. We Storm Clouds are only bad luck. {Then he will be your good luck charm. He's as radiant as the sun!} Sun will still not be able to change our luck. {Oh, Hia...}
Her dragon was always so depressed. And if she wasn't then she was snappy. Now that Saich thought about it, the only time she had seen Hialith in a good mood was when she bothered poor Veiruth. It was good she had a friend, and hopefully she would allow Sun to become close to her as well. Scooping up the bright Mineral, Saich couldn't help bu giggle lightly as he gave an indignant chirp, before he climbed up to her shoulder and nuzzled her cheek fondly. Such a little darling he was. Feeding him proved to be no problem, he was careful enough to not bite her fingers -- and patient enough to wait for the next scrap of meat.
"Well I'll be. I think you're the best well-behaved newborn I have ever seen!"
Another happy chirp, before the Mineral butted her cheeks softly in affection. It seemed he liked butting things with his head...

(ooc: URG sorry this is late.)
Kinah watched as the Snow and Earth broke free, and stood with her hand clapped over her mouth as they began to maul each other. When the female waterfall came over to break them apart, she exhaled a sigh of relief. She was terrified for the Snow though; his injuries were terrible. His wings were shredded to bits, and green ichor was leaking out of his wounds. She was unsure if she could touch him, but when he began crawling towards her, she scooped him him and examined his wings.
The candidate was disgusted by the way the Earth had acted, but was concentrating on the Snow now. As a feeling of intense warmth, followed by waves of alternating pain and hunger, took over her, Kinah realized she had Impressed the Snow! Overjoyed, she used her tunic to wipe the ichor from his wings. She would have to take him to a dragonhealer right away. He intercepted this and creeled shrilly - he was too hungry to be healed right now! She shushed him and, as she turned to leave, noticed the shimmery female Waterfall that had hatched earlier in the clutch.
The waterfall was beautiful, but Kinah was not greedy - she already had her flit and loved him! But soon, the strange feeling of happy warmth spread throughout her again and she grinned. She had Impressed two firelizards! She shifted the snow into one arm and pulled the Waterfall into the other. The flit, however, seemed focused on the Snow. She was instantly crooning to the smaller flit and brushing over its wounds with her nose and wet wings. Its intense feelings of protectiveness outweighed her hunger, and Kinah wasted no time in taking the pair of flits to the healer.

K'nor was shocked as the Sea and the Sand impressed to him, he now had two firelizards. He smiled as he fed each of the flitters he was pleased he hoped that Kintrath was also happy with the twin flitters. The Sea crooned as K'nor stuffed his little face until he was full to his limit, he also fed the Sand as he thought of names for the two flitters.
Mine what will you name them Mine? Kintrath asked His who thought of an answer for the dragon and then tell the owners names. K'nor smiled and continued to think, he then had an answer for the Dragon.
Nari and Sarit, Nari the Sand and Sarit the Sea.[/b] K'nor told the big bronze as he finished feeding the two firelizards. He then turned to the goldrider, he hoped that he could tell the owner of the mother firelizard thank you.
"Thank you Sunshinerider Zenniel. I feel grateful that you have opened this hatching to all who were here to have a chance to have a firelizard, I'm shocked to have impressed two of them. The Sea's name is Sarit and the Sand's name is Nari, I wonder how many people will notice both of them." K'nor said to the Sunshinerider and he hoped that the Weyrlings would have something more to understand the Weyrling Master better.

Only a few more eggs to go, that was for sure. While the mother fire-lizard looked over what remained of her clutch, another egg hatched. This one held another Storm Cloud, who, very slowly, made her way to the meat. That meat… was held by a person who already had a fire-lizard: Dr’ym. The small gray-colored flitter creeled for food, and also demanded why a Mineral Impressed to Hers first.
Two other eggs broke, breaking the tradition that there are two of each color. Good job guys. Anyway, one of the eggs held a Snow, the other a Sand (what’s up with the lower colors). The Snow, who wanted nothing more than… well… to Impress and eat, and try out his new wings so he could be a daredevil, quickly Impressed himself to Z’or. It looked like Z’or needed a companion that wasn’t down in the dumps. The Sand, seeing an older fire-lizard, flew at it. The fire-lizard in question was a Grass, and the owner of that Grass was Faral. Oh, Faral. Good luck. This Sand is a feisty one (it seemed like a Snow stuck in a sand’s body).
Another egg cracked open, apparently right down the middle, and from that egg came yet another new color. This Forest(choose a gender), who glanced at the unImpressed fire-lizards, took a running start, and almost literally whammed into A’vic. The male waterfall, not wanting to be the last one to Impress, quickly chose who he wanted, and … since his wings were dry, jumped, glided, and… well, fell into C’it. Now the poor man had two flitters. The female forest, seeing no one else in close proximity to her, flung herself at Kelladren. Kella, astounded, caught the small flitter, and thought of a name. Though she couldn’t say the name out loud, she thought it to her little dragoness, Mirr. So now Mirr was named. The other three eggs were duds.

With one fire lizard already in his arms, A'vic was taken by surprise when the second flitt crashed into him. Ala gave a sharp cry of delight, her brother had Impressed two hatchlings! How wonderful!
"What will you name it?" Ala asked, still holding Whim tight against her and leaning forward expectantly towards A'vic.
"I don't even know if it's a girl or a boy!" A'vic muttered, carefully shifting the Forest into his arms too. It immediately began tearing at the other end of the meat Torna was munching placidly on. The little Earth gave a bark of surprise and relinquished the meat the the Forest and began cheeping pitifully to A'vic.
I believe it is a male, Sretoth said helpfully, trying to take up the wisest voice he could manage. A'vic shrugged, hopefully the dragon's word was right. It would be sad if a flitt went it's whole life with everyone thinking it was the wrong gender. What had caused the laying of dragons and fire lizards that could be either sex? It was so confusing.
"So?" Ala was still watching him expectantly, but had gone to the trouble of fishing a bit of meat from her pocket to give to Torna too. The Forest was nearly done with his strip already though and would probably snatch that piece before long.
"Maybe Dash," A'vic sighed, watching the Forest's hasty movements. Ala smiled, and so Dash he became. A'vic had no idea what he was going to do with two fire lizards though- he still wasn't totally sure he had wanted one.
You can raise them, Sretoth rumbled, They are only small dragons themselves, and you raised me, right? They will be fine. But if you need, I will help you too. The Mineral's rumble deepened, apparently he thought his comment quite funny. A'vic rolled his eyes and reached for some more meat- Dash was nearly finished from the second piece he had stolen from Torna now.

He had not expected another flitt, Z'or believe his little Hia would be more than enough. Still, it seemed a Snow thought otherwise, the little behemoth [for such a low rank color] soon clung to his shirt, almost managing to nail the hidden Storm Cloud under the fabric. A loud chirp was given, Hia had been startled from her half-sleeping state, and she promptly shifted around her safe place for a more safe spot in Z'or's chest. Unpleased at finding none, she moved out, before managing to crawl into the back of his neck, wrapping herself around him and staying there. The Snow was ignored, for the Storm Cloud had no need to be social any time soon.
Flake, as Z'or uncreatively decided to name the Snow, chirped again -- before the man begun to feed him. He took a while, more than even Hia Z'or noted, before finally the lump of white was satiated -- and promptly latched himself to the SeaRider's arm.
Faral had been watching, before the disturbed screech of his Grass caught his attention. The tiniest of Sands that he had ever seen soon bowled into his lap, chirping loudly as she demanded love and attention and food an- oh, what is that shiny thing? As she tried to gnaw on his trouser's button the male chuckled, before scooping up the happy and giddy flitter to feed her. Tumble, as he decided to name her when the flitt attempted to roll off his lap and arms for quite a good amount of times, was soon full and content. She then focused on stretching her wings and trying to glide -- often being rescued from a fatal fall by Mirage. The Green could carry the hatchling on her back -- if only for a very short period of time -- thanks to her very small size. Faral wondered if she just wasn't a Snow disguised as a Sand...

Dr'ym was suddenly being creeled at by a very cross Storm Cloud hatchling, asking for food and why he had Impressed that Mineral before her.
He smiled down and leaned over to pick her up, scooping up some meat. He fed her slowly and sated her sadness at second Impression.
" Don't fret little Opal, your beauty will not go unseen because of anything. I will pay you equal attention, promise." He said to the fire-lizard before she fell asleep in his arms next to her Mineral brother.
C'it was watching the end of the Hatching with excitement. Even if he did not Impress one it was great to be here! Then something fell into him. He was being creeled at by a silvery mass...that quite frankly demanded feeding.
C'it giggled as he went over next to Dr'ym, who had just Impressed his second one, and began to feed his male Waterfall.
" Easy there, not so rapid little guy...Ha! I think I'll call you Rapid!" He smiled and finished feeding the new hatchling. As the flitt was falling asleep he smiled over at Dr'ym.
