About the Person:

Physical Appearance: K'lan is, admittedly, a fairly handsome man, which partly explains his success with the ladies and gentlemen he fancies. He has golden blonde hair, rather than the usual Pernese dark brown. He always keeps it short, in accordance with the custom created long ago by dragonriders who didn't want to get Thread caught in their hair. His eyes are hazel, a shade somewhere between brown and green. K'lan is a tall man and would look somewhat gangly if not for the fact that he has a strong, limber build from turns of dragonriding. As for clothing, K'lan likes to add eye-catching touches, like decorative threading. He likes dressing up for Gathers and such and has always wished that riding gear was slightly more fashion-conscious.

Personality: In a word? Flirt. He flirts with anything that moves, and he'll do anything that is human and roughly within a reasonable age range. (He absolutely never goes younger than seventeen, though, because anything younger than that is a child, because that's Zelana's age.) And he can't shut up. He loves talking to people, talking about other people, talking to himself, talking about yesterday's klah. Most of all he loves to talk about his latest arm candy, which changes quite frequently. When's he's not flirting, talking, or planning for his next flirtatious talk, he's taking care of his dragon. Levuth likes his hide shiny and K'lan is more than happy to oblige. Plus it makes his hands soft.

And, oh yeah...the brats. He likes them too. Unfortunately, they can't be oiled. Zelana is his favorite. He's really very fond of her, but shh, don't tell...it will make him look unavailable.

Of course, he's not as young as he used to be. Not like he'd ever admit it, but in his heart of hearts he's getting a little worried. Maybe he'll have to grow up by the time he reaches forty!

History: He grew up in an average, boring Hold, with average, boring parents. Except that he had eight sisters. They were all much older than them, so it was more like having nine mothers. He also had a brother, who was also several years older than him, and the designated son to take over the Hold. They didn't particularly need another son. Keilan was a "surprise." He was a troublesome child, always being a brat and trying to get attention. He also embarrassed all of the Holdbrats when he tried to kiss them. Little boys too, which made it even worse. He never wanted to be a farmer and, as a matter of fact, the parents encouraged it in the hopes that he'd run off and become a crafter and never come back. Which he did. At the age of twelve he decided to become a harper. He had a pretty good singing voice, so he was accepted as an apprentice. Unfortunately, he partied more than he practiced, and by the age of fifteen it didn't look like he was any closer to becoming a journeyman.

Luckily for him, a Searchrider dropped by. The rider declared Keilan suitable for candidacy, and he was taken to the Weyr. There, chaos ensued. Despite the candidate rules, Keilan decided to take advantage of the Weyr's more liberal atmosphere and prey on the weyrbred girls. Probably setting a record, he managed to get two girls pregnant within a few weeks of each other. He was banned from candidacy, but still managed to sneak into the stands. During the Hatching, a little Earth dragon couldn't find his rider, and then Keilan heard a voice in his head. From then on he was K'lan, rider of Sea Levuth.

About nine months later, he was also a father two times over when first Zelana and then Jaldon were born.

During weyrling training, K'lan decided to actually follow the rules, but as soon as he graduated he was up to his old tricks. It's prettymuch been the same old story for several years now, but now he his thirties are beginning to catch up with him!

Appearance of Dragon: Levuth is a very dainty Sea dragon, definitely on the smaller side for his color. His hide is a bright, cerulean shade of blue, very eye-catching. He is very careful about staying clean and receives regular hide cleanings from his rider. He has some speckles of dark blue, almost like freckles, on his wings, and a streak of light cyan on his snout. He is 25 meters tall.

Personality of Dragon: Levuth is almost the polar opposite of his rider. He is very shy, and he is nervous around new dragons and people. He needs a lot of encouragement before he tries something new or takes a risk. He thinks before he leaps, and often gets nervous when his rider does not do the same. Levuth is also very bashful around females, unlike his rider. However, despite their different personalities, dragon and rider make a good pair and balance each other out.
