About the Person

Physical appearance: Basically, very tall and well-muscled, reaching nearly 6'6" in height. His hands are surprisingly slender in comparison to the rest of his body, his expression usually gentle. He often wears a long green tunic, brown pants and wherhide boots.
Ocean-blue eyes that always seem to have a thoughtful expression are usually what catch one's glance when anyone first looks at Avaric. They are wide-set too, but it seems to pass unnoticed by anyone but him. He has a wide jaw and largish nose, a sort of natural explanation for the wide space between his eyes because the bridge of his nose needs to fit inbetween. His lips are thin and always have a dry look to them. A'vic's head is topped with thick black hair that always appears as though flitts have been trying to nest in it.
Personality: Depsite his build, A'vic is a little shy and would prefer spending most of his time reading. He has always seen ending up with Sretoth as a bit of a mistake, much as he loves the dragon, because the Mineral is his complete opposite. The dragon does everything he can to bring out any outgoing-ness(new word…x3) in A'vic. (Because it is there, it's just hiding.)
It is usually easy to find A'vic pouring over old hides, whenever he's missing that's where one can find him. (Unless Sretoth is missing too... then you ask the dragon.) But although he has a sort of reclusive personality A'vic usually gets along well with anyone easily enough. He just doesn't talk a lot, which can get on those who seem against shutting up's nerves. =P

Pets: Earth Flitt Torna
Appearance: Torna is a very light-brown Earth, more like a dark Sand without the specks. A thin stripe of darker brown runs from the tip of his nose and down the center of his back to the tip of his tail. The scratches on his side gained from the fight at hatching will eventually turn into small scars, leaving his left side marred. He will grow to be a small Earth too- another more Sand-like trait. Torna will probably never grow to a length more than 31 centimeters.
Personality: Torna can be a bit on the agressive side, but overall prefers to be in comfort and silence. Mostly because of his small size, he can be a little shy too. Around A'vic though, he is more assertive and because of his hatching experience, he has a strong aversion to Snows and Waterfalls.

Male Forest flitt Dash
Appearance: Only a medium-dark Forest, Dash is large and will probably grow to be 40 centimeters. A wide stripe of very dark green crosses his face, rather like a ring around his muzzle and over his eyes. The stripe repeats itself on each of his legs- just above the ankle- and about mid-way down his tail.
Personality:Dash, easily living up to his name, has a hasty nature and is basically just extremely impatient. Waiting for anything seems to drive the little flitt a bit crazy, and he tends to beat up on his smaller brother, Torna, to get all that he needs since A'vic always seems to tend to the Earth first. Maybe Torna hatched first, but Dash is the more dominant lizard.

History: A'vic grew up in a small, fairly out-of-the-way home. It came as a huge shock to all when a Grass Searchdragon appeared in front of the house. The rider apparently had not planned on coming here, but had hurt his arm and was hoping for some assistance. A'vic's father knew a little about healing and was able to bind it up- the injury turned out being a very minor fracture. During the stay, the Grass decided that A'vic would probably make a very good Candidate for the soon-to-hatch clutch.
A'vic argued, he liked it here and did not want to leave. His little sister Ala, on the other hand, really wanted to go and begged to go in her older brother's place. After explaining that picking Candidates really didn't work that way, the rider made a deal that if A'vic would only come with then he would bring Ala down too- not as a Candidate but just to be among Weyrfolk- and that if he didn't Impress at this clutch then he could go back home. Ala begged A'vic to agree, and finally he gave in. He was eighteen at the time, Ala twelve.
So off they went to the Weyr. The clutch hatched late in the afternoon, and led to a dark-bronze dragon tackling him in almost the same movement of bursting from its egg and announcing, A'vic! My A'vic! Sretoth claims you for his own! Now feed me!

A’vic and Sretoth’s life as a Weyrling was overall uneventful. Ala did everything she could to help and is probably almost as close to the dragon as A’vic is. She helped in oiling and bathing and whatever else the dragonet decided he needed whenever she had the time.

Finally the dragon grew old and large enough to take to the skies with A’vic on his back. The new riders were trained in a variety of Thread-fighting maneuvers. Sretoth didn’t exactly excel at this, but did his best to give himself a better appearance among the rest of the dragons. He wasn’t completely interested in helping A’vic look good too, but since most people think that the dragon is obeying, he did that inadvertently.

Although he is old enough, Sretoth is not an extremely avid dragon chaser. He has been waiting for a Rise that he really thinks he has a chance at winning, which works for A’vic who doesn’t completely want his dragon to chase. If his Mineral caught a Sunshine, it gives him more of a chance to have an authorative position in the Weyr than he wants. Sretoth is convinced that somewhere deep down A’vic would make a great leader though and so plans to do his best when he decides to chase.

At six, Sretoth finally rose to chase after the Sunshine Lilith and after a long flight won! =D Now A'vic is Weyrleader and we'll see what comes of that...

Appearance of Dragon: A medium-sized Mineral, Sretoth has a bulky build like his rider but is still agile in flight and on the ground. He sports a darker shade of bronze, no green tinges his hide. Sretoth’s eyes are a little larger than the average dragons, but other than that he is overall similar to most of his counterparts.
Personality of Dragon: Sretoth loves to show-off and get seen by everyone. Also very talkative, he comments on anything and everything A’vic does, critiques him on how he acts around others, how well or badly he washes the dragon and so on. He also loves to be bathed, although any sort of attention at all will make him happy. He hasn’t yet proved himself to be a particularly lusty dragon though, having so far avoided Flights.
Other: Not a packrat, but a packtail. How weird. xP
