Amirinth had been acting proddy for a few days now, of course affecting her rider too ((although you can come up with exactly how that made him act around your characters x3)). But it wasn’t until she actually cooperated n a bath that R’keh knew he didn’t have long before she flew. Normally, the little (compared to dragons at least) Grass despised bathing and did her best to make each experience horrible. Before rising though, Amirinth wanted to be beautiful. Bath-time, quite suddenly, became a necessity.
The next day Amirinth had lingered near the feeding pens after finally waking up- somewhere around noon. Another sign she was ready to fly, she always seemed to oversleep. While she waited around, driving all the beasts there a bit mad, she looked ready to feed but never really did. She had flown enough times that Amirinth had a lot more control over the rising lust that led her to mate. This time she wanted to rise in the evening, with the sunset to back her flight. So Amirinth waited.
Both dragon and rider were on edge the whole day because of it. R’keh knew Amirinth’s plans and couldn’t decide whether to look forward to her rising or not. Amirinth could be a pain, for even as she flew, leading any males who thought to follow her on a helter-skelter track through the sky, she had many comments to make. And this time he had Nip, who would probably not like him shirking his duties with her because he was overcome with Amirinth’s lust.
Shards, that flitt was going to kill him.
With a wild and excited trumpet, Amirinth dove into the feeding pen, snatching the first creature she came upon- an unlucky wherry. Amirinth’s feeding patterns always changed when she ate just before rising, but a wherry was definitely new. She rarely ate those no matter the circumstance. Perhaps because it was her tenth year of life and she figured that after a decade one should try something different. And R’keh had Nip now, maybe that effected her too. Amirinth didn’t really think about her reasoning and probably didn’t quite know herself so probably the rest of the world won’t either.
Despite the many times Amirinth had risen, she had never quite caught on to bleeding her kills. R’keh fought over the vehement rage that had suddenly risen in his dragon’s mind, leading her to so viciously kill her wherry, and reminded her to blood the creature. Amirinth growled unhappily, but obeyed without too much trouble.
Her next kill ended up being a large herdbeast. Amirinth reluctantly bled that and then took to the skies again. Even for a Grass she was small; it took little to sate her. Bugling a come-and-get-me challenge, Amirinth took off over the Bowl, shooting like a winged arrow across the sky.

Amirinth flies! Frikath sent into Senara's mind, words suddenly accompanied by an inrush of lust.
The searider had been on her way to the dining hall. Quickly, she changed course. Where is her rider?
His Weyr.
Yes, a definite change of course and a quickening of pace. Food could wait, lust was suddenly more important and Senara's thoughts bent with her steps towards R'keh. No, she would not mind at all if Frikath won this flight...and thoughts of losing were as far from her mind as forgotten dinner.
And Frikath was airborne in pursuit. Silent, for now, both in terms of noise and in terms of any comments towards the grass that was, for this brief time, the most beautiful thing on Pern. The most wonderful lady. Sure, she was small, but that was not about to bother him, not about to slow him down. He would have her, claim her. No fancy flying yet, merely a follower, watching to see what she would do and holding back a little. Canny, the older blue was saving his energy for later in the flight. Let the young males wear themselves out quickly; he, Frikath, would be there at the very end with enough left to support her on strong azure wings.
He would claim her and love her, and he didn't care about anything else. Dragon life, in the moment, all else forgotten.

These past few sevendays had been rather bothersome for C'it. Roluth had lost another Flight, that always put a damper on his mood as well as C'it's. Not to mention the obvious closeness of Amirinth's rising, R'keh had become a little flirtatious.
That twilight that it happened, Roluth was about to get settled in when his mood completely changed. Mine, She rises! I must chase! This could be my moment! He seemed giddy, a nice change to C'it.
So as C'it slowly made his way to R'keh's weyr, Roluth flew for the Feeding Grounds.
Roluth felt a little bit of lust, his eyes a faint purple with pinks and greens. He saw Amirinth about to blood her second kill and rushed to blood his first, a large herd beast. He quickly sucked it dry and launched himself at another beast of the same size.
He wasn't really worried that he would run out of energy in the Flight, but he wanted to have enough to be the best that he, Roluth, could be. His eyes clouded over with a slightly more lavender color.

Two chasers now... Amirinth crooned to them. A Sea and a Forest. Blue and green, plant and water... she mused happily over that and pushed onwards. Amirinth was strong, she figured she could keep her flight long. Longer, at least, than the Storm Cloud that had flown recently. Such lazy dragons... the little Grass saw herself as better than them, even if she was smaller.
Pretty Roluth, you chased the lovely Sunshine, didn't you? Amirinth asked absently as she flew. The Grass liked talking to her pursuers. Frikath hadn't, there was another Sea that had though. Silly him. Hopefully Veiruth was better now though, maybe he could join the chase too...
But not quite yet, apparently. And Amirinth couldn't linger on him; better she thought about her current chasers. The Sea seemed like he was holding back. Amirinth took a powerful downstroke, picking up her speed a bit. She didn't want dragons who flew slowly behind her. A Blue shouldn't worry about energy when they were always claiming that they had more than Greens.
Nip popped from between to land on R'keh's shoulder and nibble on his ear while sending him questioning sensations and pictures of Amirinth. What could she be doing now? The young Sand seemed to be wondering. He brushed her away irritably- or tried to, but instead Nip bit down on his intruding fingers.
He hissed and glared at the Sand, who drew her head back but didn't leave or stop questioning him. At least it didn't look like anyone had reached the weyr yet, although it probably wouldn't be long. He wanted Nip gone. The fire-lizard, picking up on how Hers didn't want her there, began chattering excitedly. She felt the lust weakly, and didn't understand it one bit. It was exciting.

Frikath was not worrying about having more energy than a grass. He was worrying about having more energy than a forest. Wings spread as he climbed a little to get the advantage of height on her and, hopefully, the other male. For right now, he made it look easy, even nonchalant. She would, he knew, test him soon enough. She was bound to. It was her instinct, so only the best would claim her.
The best would be him.
Senara was drawn to R'keh's weyr as a filing to a magnet. There was no thought in her mind of going anywhere else. She could feel the strain in herFrikath's wings, feel the wind under them, but she had to keep enough of herself to get there, before she could surrender to that incredible oneness with her dragon, that thing no non-rider could understand when they said those things they said about riders.
OOC: Gah! Run-on!

As he finished blooding and took off, Roluth was a little surprised to be addressed directly by Amirinth.
Yes, I did chase her. She did not find me worthy of her though. I wish to prove myself better in this Flight! He leveled himself with her in flight, but kept himself about a dragon-length behind and to the right.
He could see her hide shining, even brighter in the twilight. He sent her thoughts of beauty, not really words. Just pictures of things that were as pretty as she was. Roses, a nice bright day, things to that nature. Roluth bugled to her as the lust began to build and he began to lose himself in the heat of the Flight.
C'it entered R'keh's weyr with a hello. He placed himself on a wall close by as he usually did, though the lust was building quicker than in the Storm Cloud Flight. He looked over at R'keh and wondered what the other rider was feeling right now, the lust had to be more intense with a female dragon...C'it thought anyway.

K'lan had attempted to give Valuth a bath the day before, and had almost been chased away by a very grumpy R'keh. He knew for sure that Amirinth would be rising soon. He wasn't surprised when he heard the tell-tale bugle of a rising female, but he was when he heard Veluth's answer to it. I will chase![/color] The Sea declared simply before launching himself into the air, leaving K'lan alone on his weyr ledge.
Valuth's eyes whirled violet and red as he joined the other Sea and Forest in their chase, his gaze focused on the beautiful Grass. I come to do you honor with my pursuit, sweet Amirinth, he told her, crooning his admiration as he flew after her. He was experienced, just as she was, and he was confident, but he still knew that he would need to impress the emerald beauty before she made her choice. He beat his wings steadily, catching up with the earlier arrivals easily this early in the Flight. He watched Amirinth closely for any signs of tricks to come. He knew that Grasses like to play with agility and speed in the sky, and surely Amirinth would be no different.
K'lan arrived at R'keh's weyr and took up his post with the other riders. He smiled, charming and dreamily, at the Grassrider, noticing how handsome R'keh suddenly appeared to be. The Flightlust was settling in fast. He should be used to it by now, but it always took him by surprise.

Yes, perhaps you will. Amirinth sent her message to Roluth with what she thought was a devious chuckle. She glanced briefly back at her pursuers as another Sea joined- Valuth was it? She chirped to him. Frikath was flying above her and was making the flying look much too easy. Valuth was late, but not much. Roluth had only just taken to the skies anyways, the Blue hadn't been much behind him. Maybe he wasn't late... Amirinth would have to think about that.
The sun was sinking lower, Amirinth paid it little attention but glanced up at the sky. In the further corners a couple early stars were visible... how exciting. She turned slightly left, headed in the direction of them. Catch them for me, my pretties, Amirinth called to the three males. She didn't necessarily mean the stars, nor did she know if the dragons would know that stars were what she was even thinking about... no, she didn't care much what they caught. Something pretty hopefully. Something creative.
While waiting for their reactions to her order, Amirinth didn't stop and hover. In the last couple flights she had heard there had been much waiting around from the female while the males performed for her. Amirinth's mate needed to be able to keep headed forward while showing off. She was much too above waiting. A male could just fly over and grab her if she paused to hover, and why should she wait for the males who were supposed to be keeping up with her on their own? It was an important way to prove oneself.
R'keh nodded slightly to the others as they entered his Weyr. Nip glared at them, her eyes tinged slightly lavender now gaining a slight yellow shade to their edges. She wasn't sure she liked having more people coming in now. R'keh sighed softly and glanced out of his weyr. Dragonlust always took a while to really effect him, as for the others... it appeared different to him. Nip only muttered softly to herself.

Roluth? Roluth was gone really. In his place was a lust driven dragon, desperate to win this Flight.
He flew close to Amirinth, still He gave Her some distance. She was too shining and beautiful to fly directly beside and miss the sight. He heard Her say that they should catch something..but what? He looked around quickly. Stars, night, water, flowers...Flowers!
He dove for the flowers, catching His claws full of them. As He rose back up, He made sure that none of the nice petals were taken away by the wind, or more than He could help. He regained His previous level with Her, then rose right above Her and slightly in front. As He positioned himself correctly, He released all the petals and flowers to fall around and on Her in a lovely shower.
He rumbled to Her. I give you a shower of petals and flowers. Very beautiful? As He took his first position again, he was fairly pleased with himself.

Frikath was a literal-minded dragon. No, he couldn't catch the stars, but he suddenly rose to fly up and up and up. He already had the height on her, now he climbed, almost as if he was the one being chased. Blue wings began to feel the strain, the burn, as he rose, and rose.
No, he could not reach them. But he could reach for them with his talons, extend them outwards. Become a silhouette of dragon against the sky. I can't catch the stars for you, Valaranth. And he dropped, a dive that would put him back to the pack, if still a little above. But I would if I could, I would bring them all down from the sky to adorn you.
Senara gasped a bit as Frikath showed off, relaxing as she felt his wings snap out again to support them both Don't you dare strain a wing. She's not -that- pretty the part of her still rational flickered at the sea. The rest of her just wanted to entwine with R'keh.

Veluth's determination grew as he flew after Amirinth, following her into the sunset. As the sun sank in the sky, Amirinth's glory replaced it, a Green sun. He banked to the left as she did, following her every move. They almost seemed to be heading for the stars that were appearing in the distance.
Catch them for me... Veluth paused, a bit confused by the order. Perhaps she was just being figurative. Then Roluth went and caught some flowers for Amirinth. So it was an order to impress her. Frikath flew up as if he was indeed going to catch the stars themselves, and Veluth snorted. The Flight was far from over yet, and fancy flying like that would only wear a dragon out.
Why would I try to catch anything but you? He asked, his voice light and almost teasing, but also serious. You are the star.

So the Forest chose to go first... Amirinth watched him dive. Interesting that he chose flowers to grab, the Grass woukdn't have thought of that. She slowed slightly as Roluth climbed, even with her, then above, in front a little. Flower petals showered around her and Amirinth crooned. She liked that trick very much.
I give you a shower of petals and flowers. Very beautiful?
Yes. Amirinth rumbled softly. She snorted a clingy petal off her nose and turned her gaze to the two Seas. What would they do now? Frikath was flying above her already, something Amirinth wasn't sure she liked, and now he climbed higher, up, up towards the stars themselves. Did he really think he could catch her a star?
She watched curiously as Frikath reached out as though about to grab one, and then heard his lament.
I can't catch the stars for you Valaranth,
Valaranth? Amirinth wondered if he had just confused her with someone else or if the word was supposed to mean something nice. She didn't know and so figured for now she would take it as a compliment until she could ask R'keh. Now Frikath dropped and spoke to her again... she crooned. Wearing stars would make her very pretty.
Amirinth glanced at Veluth wondering what he would do.
Why would I try to catch anything but you? You are the star.
Amirinth gurgled softly. Was this a plot to save energy or was he serious? Because I asked you too, lovely Sea, she replied. Her voice too, was light and slightly teasing, she didn't mind too much that he hadn't gotten her anything. But she would have preferred Valuth had.
R'keh could feel the tickle of petals across his skin probably more than Amirinth had, he wasn't there but human skin was more sensitive. The Grass probably liked the trick with the flowers, Roluth was the only one who had actually caught something... But Amirinth was no-where near a decision, so though the lust was coming stronger the rider felt no real pull towards anyone. Not yet at least...
With her followers having done their 'trick', Amirinth turned again, back towards the sunset. The stars were pretty, but the sunset led the foursome out over water and Amirinth liked water a lot. Once the currently orange-red ocean was beneath her, Amirinth took a shallow dive. She wasn't a queen, she would lay no eggs, she didn't particularly need to fly high. The tips of her claws and tail trailed in the water as Amirinth sent out a question the dragons flying behind.
Do any of you happen to be water dragons...?

OOC: Crap. I got my greens confused. Really, he'd have said the right name...
Frikath followed her down, still staying slightly above. For you, Amirinth, I will become one. They were low enough that if he caught her now they would fall into the water together. It was cold, the water, pleasantly so, he could see the wake left by her talons and tailtip. Scoring lines across the waves. Oh, she was so beautiful, this green. Her wings just the right length, her tail...oh, that tail...
Senara circled the greenrider a little, her eyes on him, but she played by the rules, she did not come forward, made no step closer until she felt Amirinth's choice. She felt Frikath's lust, his desire, burning through her. So bright now that it consumed all human thought, all possibility of it. Reason was nothing. Dragon instinct ruled and her wings brought her low above the water, the spray touched her and Faranth...what a green...

Valuth was rather disappointed by Amirinth's answer, and he could tell that she wasn't impressed by his clever words. No matter, he would keep going and please her some other way. The Flight was still not over. He watched as she flew down towards the water, still lingering above in case she was trying to trick them and she would fly back up as they started to follow. But when she asked if they were water dragons, he let out a small bugle of delight. He loved the water!
He tucked in his wings, streamlining his body, and then he dove, plummeting straight down into the water. He submerged himself entirely, swimming underwater before a few lengths before leaping back up, droplets spraying off of his wings. His blue hide shone with the dampness, and his eyes whirled with glee. After his display, he let his claws dip in the water as she did. Indeed I am, fair Amirinth.
K'lan smiled, laughing as he felt his dragon's joy at having a chance to play in the water during a Flight. He felt the cool spray of the water and hear the roaring of the sea. Before him, R'keh looked less man and more dragon. He kept his eyes fixed on the other man just as Valuth was entirely focused on Amirinth. The lust was overpowering, and he wanted nothing more than to have R'keh as his own.

He crooned to Her. She wanted a water dragon? He could do what that Sea had just done...or something unexpected...and sort of exhausting. He prepared Himself, after all He still had reserves not tapped into and He was larger than the other chasers.
He glided in front of Her, looking back and giving a lust-draconic smile. Watch pretty Grass Amirinth.
He skidded over the water, hoping that this trick would not cost Him anything in the ways of pain. Lifting up slightly, He began to twirl and scoop water up in a spiral of droplets all around Him that gently showered back as He kept moving forward.
As He got back into position, He purred to Her. For Her mind only He said, You must water pretty flowers.
Alright, now C'it was beginning to feel the brunt of the dragon-lust. He was getting more used to it...probably because Roluth chased nearly every sevenday or two. He smiled to himself though and looked over at R'keh. The man was nice, clean, C'it could get along with him. But it was up to the dragons...though C'it couldn't help but notice how nice R'keh seemed to look in dragon-lust clouded eyes. C'it looked away quickly.

((I suspected that, lol. That’s why Amirinth decided it was just a word she didn’t know and took it as a compliment…. X3))
R’keh could tell Amirinth was getting tired because her lust was building quickly as it always did when she used the powerful sensation to try and hide any sort of exhaustion she felt.
The plan didn’t quite work for the Grass since as she let the lust flood through R’keh more, he merged with her more and thus felt everything she did with more precision. Water tickled his paws and tail-tip for a long moment and then stopped as Amirinth began to rise again, away from the ocean surface. She had liked Roluth and Valuth’s tricks, R’keh could tell. But Frikath hadn’t performed….?
R’keh could feel the glimmerings of a decision in Amirinth’s mind, but fought to control himself and not give any hints of who the winner could be. Amirinth wouldn’t like him giving that away, especially when she wasn’t completely sure.
Amirinth was flying high again, feeling warm evening winds under her wings. They curved and them and helped her lift high, higher. She spiraled gradually upwards, every movement still smooth and energized. Amirinth would never admit to being tired, would never allow herself to show it. Only R’keh could know because he could feel it through their mental link. No-one else would know.
Amirinth would have to end her Flight soon if she didn’t want to show the way her muscles were tiring. But not quite yet. She wanted her suitors to perform one more time for her; either to confirm her current decision or change it. Everyone still had a chance, just one of the males maybe more so. It depended.
Amirinth liked Valuth’s trick. It was simple, but one that Amirinth had experience in. Diving quickly into the ocean hurt. R’keh had gotten after her plenty of times when she complained of her chest and wings burning from the force of her body striking water. The Sea had resisted that for her.
Roluth’s trick had been pretty, skittering along the ocean’s surface like a skipped pebble. But the Forest was no rock, he didn’t eventually sink in. He swirled out, water droplets flying about him. Amirinth also liked how he had tied that trick in with his first one. Judging from what females had told her of Roluth’s other tricks in Flights, he seemed to like ones like that. Water droplets could easily be pretty when swirled and displayed like that. But perhaps she didn’t like the Forest being somewhat repetitive.
When, lovely Sea? Amirinth finally spoke specifically to Frikath. He was flying low, just above the surface of the water as she was. She had seen no real trick though. One couldn’t be a water dragon without doing something more with the water. Perhaps being like the other Sea had been when Amirinth wanted something caught for her, although without the flattering words.
Well, he would have a chance to redeem himself here. Amirinth still didn’t stop flyling, she would not wait around to watch performances. But she flew in a wide circle, keeping her distance from males who could just extend a wing and snag her on its slender fingers, and spoke to all three again.
Perhaps you could think of a third trick for your Amirintlove?
But every trick needed its requirements. The first one had been to catch her something. The second needed water. Now she would get a little more specific. Amirinth spoke to Roluth first.
I want no water, pretty Forest. Droplets or dropping of things, no. Perform for your Amirinthlove.
Next Frikath… Lovely Sea, what could you find for your Amirinthlove that is even better than stars?
Finally she spoke to Valuth. What can you do, pretty Sea? Fly low, fly high?
Vague maybe…. Amirinth would see how the dragons took her comments. A good enough trick here could make up for past ones, change Amirinth’s mind about who she currently suspected she would choose.
Amirinth began to roll absently as she waited, curling one wing or the other to turn different ways. Order made little difference, her suitors couldn’t know what order she had spoken to them in, or even that she had talked to all of them. Amirinth gurgled softly and focused on another star. Silly little glowing dot, it couldn’t move at all. Amirinth was luckier, she could game.

He thought quick, as quick as a lust filled mind could. He chuckled heavily to himself. No droplets, no dropping...He had an idea. He sensed end to this Flight soon, but would not let on.
Very well, dear Amirinth, watch as I give you....and He shot off ahead, MY STRENGTH! He was happy, completely lost to lust.
He had shot ahead, now dipped back...slamming His wings out. As He got even with Her head, He spiraled around Her in growing loops.
He reached the end of Her tail, and reaching into His large reserve, shot forward again.
And winked out.
He burst forth directly at the spot that He had been the entire Flight, right behind Her. Now I bask in Your glory. He told Her.
C'it/Roluth looked around the room and rested His eyes on R'keh. The lust had finally built to too much, they had melded. He was happy with himself...the best He had ever performed in a Flight. Either way He would be happy.

That took some thought. Water had been done, so had flowers. Frikath had himself to offer, but pretty words were not enough for this grass. She wanted more. Stars cannot be caught, he sent as he climbed again. Neither can air or water or so many things that truly matter. But other things can. And he dropped, although not into the water, only his talons breaking the surface once, twice, three times, and then rising upwards towards her. Struggling fish were caught on his claws, silver and brilliant. For you, lovely Amirinth
Of course, to get them, she would have to let him get close, perhaps even within catching distance. Perhaps that, too, was part of the older blue's plan to win her.
Senara swayed on her feet, Frikath's tiredness mingling with the lust that flowed between and united them both. Oh, she wanted that greenrider right now, so badly..

Valuth had enough experience to know that the Flight would have to end soon. Grass Flights weren't usually that long, and even though Amirinth seemed so strong and skillful, he knew that she would have to be caught sooner or later. He crooned as she gave him what he expected would be her final request. He would use his last reserves of energy in a last effort to impress her. Flying he could do, and he planned to use his best tricks. He waited for Roluth and Frikath to give their shows. Roluth's flying was good, but Valuth was determined to top that. Frikath's fishing was nice too, but why would Amirinth want them right now? Valuth was ready to outdo them both.
Watch, Valuth said as soon as Frikath was done presenting his gift. He tucked his wings in and dove again, but not all the way to the sea. He stopped a few dragonlengths above the surface. Low. He stayed there for only a few moments before lifting his wings and rising up into the air, flying as fast as he could in a tight spiral formation. It was dizzying, but he managed not to fall off course. He flew above the other chasers, then looked down at Amirinth. High.
He glided rapidly back down to join the rest of the chasers, then backwinged sharply. Backwards! He changed his direction again with a barrel roll and then flew down a little more, so that he was about a dragonlength beneath Amirinth's level. He flew right under her and flipped himself over that he was looking up at her. And upside down.
K'lan was pleased with the way this was going, and he could feel how much fun Valuth was having with all of the fancy flying. He also knew how exhausted his dragon was after that display. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, trying to bear as much of the tiredness he could for his dragon, allowing Valuth to concentrate on the Flight. Opening his eyes again, he focused on R'keh, allowing the sight of the Grassrider to steady him.

Amirinth rumbled at Roluth’s excited comment and watched with interest as the Forest began circling around her. Her head turned curiously, and then he shot forwards again- and disappeared? Amirinth looked around with surprise and finally heard the pop of a dragon reappearing from between. He was behind her again, where he had always been.
Very good, pretty Forest, Amirinth complimented him. She liked that trick.
Next Frikath was going? How funny that they went in the same order she had spoken to them. Ah well… he was diving, perhaps he would become a water dragon now. Maybe, no… he didn’t go under, but he caught her fish! A gift! And fish were much better than stars, she could eat them. Stars just sat there, or floated, or however one would describe their existence. Amirinth wasn’t totally sure.
Fish, lovely Sea? I do like fish. She rumbled softly and took a vague turn towards the Sea, she had to accept the gift he presented…
Watch.
Amirinth, distracted from Frikath and his gift, turned her head to watch Valuth, turning again in her flight to see what he would do. He was diving too, down towards the water, but he pulled up sooner than Frikath had. Low, of course! Next he spiraled up, a trick that almost made Amirinth dizzy just watching. Up, up, high… yes.
But the trick wasn’t over yet! Amirinth chirped excitedly as he went sharply backwards, then he rolled beneath her… upside-down. He had gone even beyond her request. Amirinth crooned.
Now she was quite sure who she would choose. She took off again, shooting forwards as though continuing the Flight. Then, similar to as Roluth had done earlier, she flicked between. Only for a moment, and it brought her backwards, even with the male she had picked.
One stroke and she was above him and carefully the little Grass angled her flight so that she drifted above the dragon. Her wings beat in time with his so that they wouldn’t hit each other and cause injury. Carefully, carefully, she let herself fall a little lower. The backs of her paws touched his smooth hide and she carefully entwined her neck with the male’s.
