((Sparrow's Greens have been busy lately. xD))
It was always quite a relief to Tirasha when Tianthe’s eggs finally hatched. As far as she could tell, the Grass only laid eggs as another way to aggravate the Healer as it seemed obvious that Tianthe didn’t care a bit about them. The first sign was that Tianthe always laid her eggs in a fireplace in the Lower Caverns (or at least usually she did, there had been times that Tirasha never found them), and that fireplace was usually one used often. Tianthe put them there for the warmth apparently, but did not realize that they would be burnt to a crisp or broken before long since she carefully buried the eggs under layers of ashes to ensure no-one found them.
Tirasha at least was able to tell pretty easily when the fire-lizard had laid her eggs and headed straight to the kitchens to dig the eggs up again. She always prepared a spot for Tianthe to lay her eggs in her own room, but of course the flitt never used it. So Tirasha made a mess of herself digging through the ashes of fireplaces, got yelled at by a few cooks, and finally ended up with eleven little eggs. Tianthe’s reaction to them made it obvious that they were hers- she attacked Tirasha without the slightest thought that this could potentially make one of her eggs get hurt.
As mentioned, Tianthe didn’t care a bit what happened to them. She just went to lengths to keep people away. So, Tianthe’s attack ended up leaving Tirasha with a few nasty scratches across the forehead and arms (good thing she’s a Healer) and one broken egg. They were down to ten. The number, at least, seemed fitting, seeing as Tianthe was ten. Tirasha moved these to the spot in her room and left them under Willow’s guard- he was a much better parent than the wayward Grass.
Then came that portion of time while the egg-shells hardened, embryos developed, and the eggs neared their hatching time. This was Tirasha’s least favorite portion of the time following Tianthe’s Flight, as the little Grass practically kept the Healer out of her own room. Tianthe didn’t like people coming near her eggs, and Tirasha was the one she wanted away most because she was always moving them and giving them away. Tianthe didn’t mind when her eggs were going away, but she didn’t like that it was a person doing it as she had never given any sort of permission for that. In an attempt to keep her eggs where they were, she would perch atop the slight ledge on the far side of the door into Tirasha’s little room and dive at the Healer whenever she entered.
And some people wondered where she had her multitude of little scars on her arms from. Willow was little help in defending Tirasha from Tianthe, he didn’t like fighting his clutch-sister and she could easily outmaneuver the Mineral anyways. As long as Tianthe couldn’t see Tirasha though, she seemed to be alright and so the Healer did her best to just duck across her room and hide under the thin blanket on her bed for as long as she needed to be there.
And finally the eggs were hatching. Willow was the one who popped from between to alert Tirasha- Tianthe was probably still lying in wait above the door and not paying any attention to her eggs. This brought another hard move, Tirasha’s room wasn’t big enough for more than just a couple people and Tianthe wasn’t about to let anyone in anyways. Throwing the blanket over the warm basin the eggs were in, Tirasha hurried it out and into the kitchens where food was a ready distraction for her violent Grass and there was plenty of space for anyone who happened to want to come to the hatching. Telling people what was happening was a different matter- hopefully someone would walk in before all the young fire-lizards hatched and ended up with no-one to Impress. This was where the food was anyways, people were sure to show up.

Krisara made her way into the kitchens, her stomach rumbling. She was halfway across the room before it even registered that somebody was humming. At least two somebodys. She turned. "Oh!" At least it was the kitchens. There was a bowl of scraps on the counter. She grabbed it, not asking for permission or anything and moved over to the eggs, setting it down. There was enough for several hatchlings in there, so she put it where anyone could get to it. Then she sat on the floor, cross-legged, watching the basket. "Rock, rock, rock, crack," she predicted, one eye on Tianthe. The green didn't seem too, well, happy.
Ten eggs. Ten chances. Mostly seas and grasses. She liked those, so that was a ok with her!

The first egg to hatch revealed a Sea. He was a small one, with a spattering of white flecks across his flanks like the markings of a Terran appaloosa horse. He looked around uncertainly, scenting food but not completely sure how to get of the bowl he had hatched into to it. So instead of moving towards the rim to figure out how to get out, he turned his head to look at the other eggs wobbling around him and spread his wings so they could dry faster. ~~~~~~~~~ Vir and Whim were both humming, the latter excitedly and the former more because instinct forced her to and Ala found the explanation for it as she was bringing a jug of redfruit joice into the dining area of the kitchens. That redhead Healer again, with her Grass snarling at people people between bites of a meatroll. Whim hopped off the woman's shoulder and sailed over to the basin, peering into it excitedly and humming. He was full grown now; although slightly on the small side he still was a fair amount bigger than the newly hatched Sea. Vir saw no reason to follow the younger fire-lizard and instead tightened her irritated grip on Ala's shoulder. "Want to try for another friend?" Ala grinned at the Storm Cloud, whose expression basically said No., and headed over to the table. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tirasha greeted Krisara with a faint smile, her relief at Tianthe's eggs finally hatching obvious on her face. As she did so another egg hatched, or more exploded, and this one left a Grass nearly as big as the freshly hatched Blue standing bewildered on the sand that half-filled the bowl. She leapt at the wall of the bowl, almost made it over, but instead tripped on the rjim and flipped over onto her back as she collapsed on the table. She blinked and struggled to her feet in a dazed manner. Once up she didn't seem quite sure about how to use her feet and so started wandering in a confused manner towards the food... somewhat.

C'it was lead to the little Hatching by Rapid, his Male Waterfall fire-lizard, and stood looking around. " Well then...I guess you want a little friend? Ok." C'it smiled and gathered a little meat to himself, poised to feed any hatchling that seemed to attach itself to him.
Rapid perched on his Keeper's shoulder and watched the events unfold...oddly silent.

Cedana, after being pushed by Monarth, decided to that she would get another flit. Monarth claimed that one blue flit was not enough and that she would need more. The more the merrier is what Monarth had claimed. So, here she was, waiting for a flit that would hopefully hatch and impress to her. There were ten little eggs and one just might be the next addition to her fair of flits and Monarth.

Krisara chuckled as she got a piece of food in her hands. "They don't know what to do with themselves, do they," she commented to Tirasha. "Well, that sea seems to be working out what those silly flappy things are for, slowly."
A sea and a grass, just as predicted. And eight more vaguely moving orbs. "So cute." That grass was going to fall on her back if she wasn't careful, in her eagerness to explore the big world beyond her eggshell.
She'd happily take either of them back to the barracks with her, restraining herself from reaching for them with visible excitement. Fidget. Fidget.

"They don't," Tirasha replied, smiling at the Grass as it wandered. Tianthe had been like that at first, always stumbling over things. But she had been smaller.
The following egg hatched into another Grass, who probably would have leapt over the edge of the bowl as her sister did but found a ended up finding the little Sea approach her with a nervous look on his face. He still wasn’t quite sure how to get out. The Grass chirped and charged at the wall of the bowl, leaping over and landing on the table. It was a more successful landing than her larger sister's, but still not quite without mistake. The Blue crawled uncertainly to the edge and peered over. Both Grasses now turned back and sat down below him, chirping excitedly and trying to convince their brother to come out.
While all this was going on, a large egg near the edge of the clutch gave one violent shake and split cleanly down the middle. A Storm Cloud slowly crawled from the remains and gave herself a lazy shake before crawling over the edge of the bowl. It wasn’t much trouble for her, being larger than the other fire-lizards who had hatched so far. Once out though, she sat down as if hatching and getting to the table had exhausted her and she needed a rest.
The egg in the very center of the batch cracked open now, leaving a glistening white fire-lizard in its place. The Snow looked around at the world he had just arrived in with amazement, then took a mighty leap towards the edge of the bowl. His wings hadn’t had time to dry, so although he tried to spread them, the thin membranes were soaked with fluids from the egg and his fragile wing-fingers weren’t strong enough to fully spread them. Velocity from his mighty jump carried him over the rim of the bowl, but he gave a squawk of surprise as he realized where he was headed.
The Storm Cloud turned her head at the sound of her brother’s call and stared at him with shock, although she didn’t move as he fell towards her, wings and legs flailing violently. A loud grunt emanated from both as the Snow collided with his larger sister, and then the Storm Cloud turned on him angrily. Her strikes weren’t violent, more liked the tired swipes of a dreaming feline, but it was enough to get each other tangled up in legs, wings, tails and necks they weren’t totally sure how to control. Their tussle sent them rolling across the table, then, finally, off it.
The pair landed in Krisara’s lap, where they broke apart and stared around with surprise. It was an Impression of a sort.

And then another grass, and this one seemed to be getting the flying thing down far more easily and quickly. Then, oh...a storm cloud. Good thing they weren't a little heavier, Kris thought, or they'd tip the entire bowl over.
Then the snow tried to fly but couldn't quite make it. "You need to let your wings dry first, little...whoah!"
The whoah was as the snow collided with the storm cloud...who wasn't quite smart enough to dodge, and then the two became a tangled mess of white and dark grey that fell right off the table and right at her! "Careful!"
And then with a thud they landed right in her lap, disentangling from each other confusedly. "Huh. You guys going to stick around?"
At least she had plenty of food for them. She did wonder what her mother would say to -two- firelizards...especially two that had Sibling Rivalry written all over them.
But they were so, so cute.

Two Seas hatched in quick succession, their hides both dark shades of blue. One was obviously larger than the other, although both were bigger than the little Sea who had hatched first. Hearing the excited chirping from the direction of their smaller clutch-brother, they headed over there. With three Blues gathered around that side of the basin it began to tip slightly. The smaller of the new Seas squawked and hopped out of the bowl, making one of the Grasses need to leap out of the way as he landed. She was the first one to hatch and tripped clumsily, rolling slightly and finally slid to a stop in front of C’it.
Apparently finished with all the troubles she had been through so far, she sat up and began creeling hungrily to him. The large Grass was really ready for food now.
The largest of the Seas glanced at the brother who was still unsure about whether he wanted to leave the bowl or not before hopping out himself. The smaller Blue flexed his wings tentatively and began fluttering them. Before long he was hovering above the sand and nervously started forwards through the air.
As the first one of his siblings to fly a little, he looked back at them as his little wings carried him forward, wondering if they would try too. Not watching where he was going though, it wasn’t long before he ended up smacking lightly into Ala.
The cook quickly raised a hand to catch the flitt as his eyes widened in surprise and his wings froze briefly.
“It’s alright little one,” she cooed, grabbing a strip of meat with her free hand and holding it out to him. The little Sea began quietly nibbling away. “You haven’t made a sound yet, have you?” Ala smiled while Vir glowered down at this new addition to the family. “I’ll call you Hush.”
The other Grass, seeing her sister and the Blue she had been ‘helping’ had Impressed, decided it was time she found someone to feed her too and trotted over to Cedana.

C'it was suddenly being scratched by Rapid on the shoulder. The Waterfall pointed down with his wing to the large Grass that was creeling up to C'it.
C'it smiled and leaned over to pick up the big girl. " Here you go girl, eat up. Don't eat too much though, you may get bigger!" He laughed.
Rapid flashed a picture to His. It was a rose. " Oh, ok then. Rose it is. How do you like that little one?"
Rose was content with that name, and the food being given to her.

A third Grass struggled from its egg and began chirping nervously, frightened by the big and bright new world she had just entered. The dark closeness of her egg was maybe preferable. Slowly approaching the edge of the bowl, she peered over the edge to watch as her largest Sea brother trotted over to Impress a random man who happened to be coming over to see what was happening. While she was occupied with that, another Storm Cloud hatched and snuck out the far side of the bowl. The last egg didn’t appear to be moving. ~~~~~~~ V’ri was only coming in for some food. He noticed the little crowd around the table and thought he would be better off avoiding it; he had seen that Healer in here before with her insane Grass and its eggs and decided he would be better off without a flitt, especially from that clutch. Decoth agreed, a fire-lizard would only distract his rider’s attention. When a little Grass suddenly spread her wings and came barreling into his chest, V’ri at first tried to throw the thing off him. Flitts Impressed to those who fed them, if he could just get it off… The Grass only clung to his shirt stubbornly and began creeing hungrily, trying to make herself seem as pitiful as possible. V’ri finally gave in with a muttered curse and a glare at the Healer and her Grass, who snarled back at him. (Tirasha secretly smirked, she had never liked V’ri.) Then the Mineralrider grabbed a handful of meat strips from the nearby plate, only to hear another pitiful cheep from its midst. A Storm Cloud poked its head out of the meat, one piece still dangling from her mouth. So now he had two. ~~~~~~~~~~ Tirasha was having her own little chuckle at this turn of events, probably the person she hated most at the Weyr ((other rps, it’s just sort of carried…)) now had two of the hardest colors to care for and they were Tianthe’s offspring, which made them a bit more insane. The last Sea Impressed to a girl, leaving nothing but one still egg in a bowl. Willow crawled into the basin, causing it to wobble, and nudged the still egg with his snout. Wouldn’t it move? Tianthe very rarely laid a dud. Willow snorted on the egg and as though that had been the magic command, it began to shake. A bark of surprise found its way from the Mineral’s mouth, then he fell silent to watch in fascination as cracks began to mar the shell’s surface. He pawed at it helpfully after a moment and before long a fourth Sea lay on the sand, his hide glistening with egg goo. Willow looked around uncertainly, then stepped out of the bowl again. Apparently trying to be helpful and probably driven by instinct to feed young at hatchings, he grabbed a bit of meat and brought it to the Sea. Had they been outside, he might have tried to lead it off to the ocean. Here, the idea didn’t occur to him. Tirasha winced as it began to eat, but felt no difference as she had when Tianthe and Willow Impressed her. So, even though now the Sea was falling in next to Willow with a manner that made it seem he would never leave, he hadn’t Impressed her. This hatchling made no move towards any people actually, so Tirasha picked up the bowl and handed it to Ala. “I guess that’s it then. Come on guys.” She started off and Tianthe fluttered after her. Willow chattered to the Sea and started towards Tirasha too. After a moment’s hesitation, the Sea spread his partly dried wings and followed the Mineral. ((A couple Impressed NPC's, but if you really want you can say that one of them was your character and have a little flitter.... I'm fairly used to people not showing up to Tianthe's hatchings though so eh... People don't seem to want lots of Greens and Blues. xP))

Cedana smiled at the little green rubbing her leg. Slowly, she fed it as it begged for more food. When she finally felt that the little flit had had enough, she stopped, and asked Monarth what she though about the flit. Monarth quickly told her Hmmm, little green. Well I wish you had impressed a storm cloud like me, but the green will have to do. Greens are always so flittery though in my opinion. Hmmm, what do you think of Flima for her name? It works Cedana said while staring at her new little green flit. Then she said out loud to the flit, "So Flima you are and will forever be."
